Grandmother Goddess of the Garden

Dear Friends,

A memorial service for my mother, Grandmother Goddess of the Garden, aka Kendra Carpenter will be held on March 29th at 3:00pm at Sanctuary Church, 3101 SE Orient Drive, Gresham Oregon 97080. In lieu of flowers (I swear, she would be cringing at the sight of cut flowers), Mom has requested that donations be made to the Estacada PublicLibrary Children's Program.

Thank you all again for your love and support through this difficult time.

This morning at 7:30am, our mother passed away after a nearly year long battle with cancer. We want to thank everyone who has been so kind to our mother and family throughout this time. This blog was very important to Mom. She enjoyed reading all of your posts and sharing her life with all you. We are in the process of making arrangements for her memorial service and will post information as we have it.

Thank you again to all of you.

Quick update

I can't believe I haven't gotten to posting since December 9th!

Happy New Year! I hope your holidays were joyous and full of family, friends, and good cheer! Mine was! I'll be giving more details of the insanity that ensued here later...

I just wanted to let you know that I'm doing okay...I've undergone "spot radiation". Evidently the rotary cuff has a bit of the CA in there and the radiation is supposed to stop this constant horrible pain, with resulting lack of use...makes you appreciate the little things in life.

Maneuvering the stairs is hard work, sitting here was near impossible without tears, and spelling on narcotics is really quite hilarious! I'm glad to be getting back to normal!

I'll try to return later or tomorrow...I want to thank you all for your thoughts, prayers, e-mails, phone calls, and visits...this past couple of months would have been impossible without them!

In Pain!

I hope everyone had a wonderful shoulder is still causing me lot's of pain and this is the first I've been able to type for a few weeks. I wanted to let you know that other than dealing with constant shoulder and arm pain, I'm still here. Hopefully I should be back to my "normal" chatty self soon.

I can't believe it's December 9th already! Holy moley!

Hopefully, I will be able to get back here tomorrow and catch up with my
self! Until then...

Take a Moment...lest we forget!

Veteran's Day!!!

This has got to be one of my favorite holidays! These characters are two of the many special men that today represents. They truly love their country, one another, and me!
I missed seeing them at "the reunion" this year...each year over the Fourth of July thousands of these crazy Vietnam Helicopter Pilots get together and relive the pain and anguish, as well as the beer and laughter.
It amazes me what they remember and amazes me more that they refuse to forget.
Take a few minutes today and thank a Veteran, any Veteran.
Thanks guys and welcome home!
